Description
This HP LaserJet Competitive Analyst would be responsible for the following:
·track competitors on a worldwide basis to HP LaserJet products that are developed in Shanghai. These products cover the mono laser personal low-end (PLE) and Small Work Team Low (SWT-L) segments for both single function printers and multifunction printers.
·Analyze competitor product offerings and provide competitive analysis on how they compare to their HP counterpart.
·Respond in a timely manner to competitive questions on HP and competitors products
·When competitors introduce a new product, provide information and analysis on the new products in a timely manner. There is very high interest in competitor new product intros.
·Test competitor and HP products using the HP System Performance test system and process
- Understand the test process and methodology and provide accurate data
- Report test results in a timely, efficient and accurate manner
- Be able to train others to use this test system and to trouble shoot problems
·Work closely with the LES Competitive Intelligence Team in Boise, Idaho, USA.
- Communicate frequently on progress and status
- Report issues and problems, track and report status regularly
- Synchronize processes and best practices for testing, analyzing and reporting
·Work closely with LES Marketing competitive response person who has responsibility for competitive response tools for the products developed in Shanghai.
- Provide competitive data to help develop competitive response tools
·Work closely with an HP resource in India (DSAS) who is supporting LES CI.
·Provide competitive analysis and competitive information to the R&D Project teams for new HP products under development in Shanghai.
- Attend PMTs as necessary to present and share competitive information.
- Develop and maintain competitive landscape tools for HP products in development
·Create reports on competitor products that have been analyzed and post those reports on the CI SharePoint in a timely manner
·track competitor products that are specific to China and India as part of HPs emerging markets initiative.
- Understand how those products are different and how they compare to HPs products
- Understand how the competitor products are different from similar products from the same vendor that are marketed in the rest of the world.
- Be able to represent and communicate the competitive situation in the emerging markets of China and India.

Qualifications
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, or related field of study, with 0-8 years related experience or equivalent. Additional business and marketing education considered a plus.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
·Knowledgeable of assigned product/solution and customer requirements for the product
·5 years of demonstrated knowledge of product marketing fundamentals or similar experience
·Moderate to Expert knowledge and experience using Microsoft Excel
·Has the skills to reliably and efficiently execute System Performance test processes and accurately record and report the data captured
·Is a self-starter, understands what needs to be done and has the initiative to move forward with little direct supervision
·Has substantial technical knowledge of PCs and laser printers, enough to trouble shoot problems with both
·Understands how laser printers work, key components and technologies, can install on network, understand printer pipeline workflow
·Proven teamwork skills and ability to work with a degree of ambiguity.
·Ability to interface with all levels in marketing and R&D
·Excellent communication skills and can collaborate globally.
·Good English skills, specially speaking, listening and writing skills as we need to communicate with global teams every day.
